received his diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1999 and his Ph.D. in Microwaves from the National Technical University of Athens in 2003. From 2004 to 2008, he worked as a research associate at the Electroscience Laboratory, The Ohio State University, USA. In March 2009, he was appointed as a lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Patras, and since March 2020, he holds the rank of Assistant Professor. Since 2021, he has been the director of the Radiofrequency, Microwave, and Wireless Communications Laboratory. From October 2016 to July 2017, he was a visiting professor at the Group of Electrical Engineering &#8211; Paris (GeePs) \/ CNRS-CentraleSupelec &#8211; Univ. Paris-Sud &#8211; Universit\u00e9 Paris-Saclay &#8211; Sorbonne Universit\u00e9. From August 2022 to July 2023, he was a visiting professor at the Electrical &amp; Computer Engineering Department, Florida International University, USA, where since August 2023, he holds the honorary position of Courtesy Associate Professor. His research interests include Antenna Design, Development and Fabrication of New Materials, Microwave Applications in Medicine, Optimization Techniques in Electromagnetics, Applied Computational Electromagnetics, and more.<\/em><\/p><p><em>Until 2001, he obtained a three-year doctoral scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) in Biomedicine. In May 2005, his doctoral thesis titled &#8216;Study of the interaction between biological tissues and microwave radiation sources in near-field conditions&#8217; received the annual Thomaidion award for the best doctoral thesis at the National Technical University of Athens. He chaired the local Greek chapter of the IEEE Electron Devices \/ Microwave Theory &amp; Techniques \/ Antennas and Propagation Societies from 2013 to 2019. He was the chair of the IEEE iWAT2017 international conference held in Athens. He has over 110 publications in international journals and conferences with peer review system. He is<\/em> <em>an<\/em> <em>Associate Editor<\/em> <em>of the journals<\/em> <em> IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters (AWPL) and<\/em> <em>IEEE Journal of Electromagnetics, RF and Microwaves in Medicine and Biology (J-ERM).<\/em><\/p><p><strong><em> <\/em><\/strong><\/p><p><strong><em>Dr. Ioannis Manolopoulos, Academic Coordinator &amp; Instructor,  <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Research Associate, NCSR \u201cDemokritos\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p><p><em>Dr. Ioannis Manolopoulos received his Ph.D. in the research field of network modeling from the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2015, supported through a four-year scholarship with Telecommunication Networks Laboratory (NeL) within Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications (I.I.T.) of National Centre for Scientific Research (N.C.S.R.) \u201cDemokritos\u201d, Athens Greece. He also holds a M.Sc. Degree in Telecommunication Systems &amp; Networks from the same Department and University, awarded in 2007, and a B.Sc. Degree in Physics from the University of Patras, obtained in 2003.  <\/em><\/p><p><em>He has been affiliated with the I.I.T. of N.C.S.R. \u201cDemokritos\u201d since 2008, currently being a \u201cResearch Associate\u201d therein.
